Afternoon Light on the Pacific
"Years ago when I was a swimmer, I could feel the life of the water as if it were a part of my being. Living close to the ocean evokes that feeling, compelling an almost sensual Zen expression of its many mood changes. Some days its furious motion catches the blues and greens of the sea and 
whips them into a foamy, white mantle. Then the night calms the ocean to the silvery iridescent gra
ys which catch the reflections of the moon and the next days sun. It is these moods that I try to capture, transferring the feelings of my early swimmer days."
